David Alegret - Tenore - I Print

Considered one of the best contemporary light lyrical tenor, David Alegret has already debuted in several of the most emblematic venues in Europe such as the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro Real de Madrid, Opera de Zürich, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper and Hamburgische Staatsoper, just to name a few.

He was born in Barcelona and studied Medicine at the Universidad of his hometown before dedicating his time to music. He studied at the Conservatoire Superior de Música in Barcelona with the countertenor Xavier Torra, and then at the Musik Akademie in Basel with the baritone Kurt Widmer. He is now developing his technique with the bass- baritone Carlos Chausson.

He has specialized in the Rossini and Mozart repertoires, and has sung the operas Cosí fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Entführung aus dem Serail, La Cenerentola, Il Turco in Italia, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, L’Italiana in Algeri, Semiramide, Mosé in Egitto, Elisabetta regina d'Inghilterra and Il signor Bruschino in Vienna, Helsinki, Rome, Sassari, Palermo, Trieste, Brussels, Zurich, Hamburg, Klagenfurt, Lisbon, Turin, Paris, Metz, Toulon, Luxemburg, Munich, Teatro Real de Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Welch National Opera in Cardiff, Montpellier and the Festivals in Garsington, Pesaro (ROF) and at the Festival Pergolesi- Spontini in Jesi (Lo frate ‘nnamorato de Pergolesi, with Europa Galante and Fabio Biondi)

In the oratorical field, he has interpreted pieces from Monteverdi to Honnegger – and particularly Bach, Händel, Mozart, Mendelssohn and Haydn- in some of the most important concert halls in such as Wiener Konzerthaus in Vienna, Queen Elisabeth Hall in London, Palau de la Música in Barcelona and the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid.

David Alegret collaborates with such conductors as Lawrence Foster, Renato Palumbo, Fabio Luisi, Christoph Spering, Sebastian Weigle, Josep Pons, Jordi Savall, Alberto Zedda, Victor Pablo Pérez, Paolo Olmi, Jesús López Cobos, Pablo Heras Casado, Carlo Rizzi, David Parry, Bruno Campanella, Fabio Biondi, Ricardo Muti, Giuliano Carella and Mark Minkowski, among others.
