Jinxu Xiahou - Tenore - I,V Print
Jinxu Xiahou was born in 1990 in China, he is engaged at the Vienna State Opera in the ensemble since 2012.
He began studying in 2008 at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing (China) and completed his studies as bachelor, he graduated in a Masters with high distinction, majoring in Lied and Oratorio at the "Universität für Musik und Darstellender Kunst" in Vienna in 2018. He made his Europe debut in 2010, when he sang at the annual Classic night in Zurich. In the year 2011 he was finalist of the renowned international singing competition Neue Stimmen of the Bertelsmann Foundation in Gütersloh and won the third prize.
During his time at the Vienna State Opera he has worked with renowned conductors such as: Marco Armiliato, Bertrand de Billy, Adams Fischer, Peter Schneider, Franz Welser Moest, Evelin Pidò and Simone Young, James Conlon, Zubin Mehta just to name a few.
In 2012 he debuted at the Wiener Staatsoper where he has sung Nemorino (L'Elisir d'amore), Rodolfo (La Bohème), Don Ramiro (La Cenerentola), Ernesto (Don Pasquale), Conte d’Almaviva (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Malcolm/Macduff (Macbeth), Alfredo (La Traviata), Fenton (Falstaff), Don Ottavio(Don Giovanni), Ismaele (Nabucco), Cassio (Otello), Naraboth/zweite/dritte Jude(Salome), Brighella/scaramuccio (Ariadne auf Naxos), Pang/Pong (Turandot), Steuermann (Die fliegende Holländer), Italienische Sänger (Der Rosenkavalier), Italienische Sänger (Capriccio), Antonio (The Tempest), Léopold (La Juive).
Mr. Xiahou made his debut at the Wiener Musikverein  with a recital presenting Lieder by Schubert and Schumann as well as works by Tosti, Rossini and Leoncavallo.
In Concert, Jinxu has performed Così fan Tutte (Ferrando) with the Macao Philharmonic Orchestra in Macao, he has also performed in Mendelssohn's Elias,Rossini's Stabat Mater and Haydn's The Creation in Vienna.
Jinxu Xiahou is a member of the ensemble of the Wiener Staatsoper, where his upcoming engagements comprise roles such as Rodolfo (La Bohème), Nemorino (L'Elisir d'amore), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Macduff (Macbeth), Ismaele (Nabucco), Count Almaviva (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Fenton (Falstaff), Cassio (Otello),Der Prinz (Persinette), as well as Richard Strauss’Salome and Der Rosenkavalier.
