Born in Naples in 1996, Valentina Pernozzoli graduated in 2024 in vocal
performance at the “San Pietro a Majella” Conservatory in Naples.
In 2022 she took part in the Accademia Pucciniana in Torre del Lago,
where she performed in productions of Madama Butterfly and La
Rondine. In 2024 she attended the Mascagni Academy at the Teatro
Goldoni in Livorno.
She made her debut at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera in the role of Mrs
Quickly (Falstaff), under the baton of Sian Edwards in Richard
Jones’s production. She performed Azucena (Il trovatore) at the
Teatro delle Muse in Ancona, under the direction of Andriy Yurkevych and
the stage direction of Giuseppe Dipasquale, and Teresa (La Sonnambula)
at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl. At the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino she
debuted the role of Zita (Gianni Schicchi) under the direction of
Francesco Lanzillotta.
In the symphonic repertoire, she worked under the direction of Maurizio
Benini in Perosi’s Il giudizio universale at the Teatro Lirico di
Cagliari and debuted Verdi’s Messa da Requiem at the Teatro Regio
di Parma as part of the Festival Verdi under the direction of Robert
Treviño.
Upcoming engagements include Amneris (Aida) at the Teatro Massimo
di Palermo and with the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma at the Circo Massimo,
under the direction of Daniele Callegari, as well as the world premiere of
Nicola Piovani’s Romanzo criminale at the Maggio Musicale
Fiorentino.
