Born
in Korea in 1990, Isabella Lee graduated with honors at the Kyoungpook
National University. After that she moved to Italy, where she graduated
in singing at the conservatory Giuseppe Nicolini in Piacenza.
Ms. Lee is winner of prestigious lyric international competitions:
first prize at the International Singing Competition “Gianni
Poggi” competition (2014); first prize at the International
Singing Competition “Magda Olivero” (2016) in Milan; winner
of the Voci Verdiane International Competition in Busseto (2017);
nominee as Young Singer at the International Opera Awards (2018).
She made her debut in 2011 starring as Mimì in La Bohème in Korea (Kyoungpook).
More recently Ms. Lee performed as Adina in L’Elisir d’amore
in Lugano and on tour in Switzerland, and, as winner of the Voci
Verdiane International Singing Competition, she has just made her debut
as Violetta in a new production of the Teatro Verdi in Parma of La Traviata staged
at the Teatro Verdi in Busseto in the frame of the Festival Verdi in
Parma 2017. The production toured in Bolzano and Trento.
Ms. Lee was also chosen by Mika, musician, singer, showman and
songwriter, and by the director Damiano Michieletto to star as Cio Cio
San in Madama Butterfly for
the Italian television program “StaseraCasaMika”, winner of
the Rose d’Or Eurovision Entertainment Award as best European tv
program in 2016.
Most recently she sang Cinzia in Legrenzi's La divisione del mondo at the Operhaus in Kiel and she has just made her debut as Oscar in Verdi's Un ballo in maschera for the opening night of the season at the Teatro Regio in Parma.
