Manuel Amati - Tenor - W Print

Manuel Amati is born in Martina Franca in 1996 and started singing very young at the age of 13 in Taranto under the guidance of the soprano Tiziana Spagnoletta. He then specialized with the soprano Francesca Ruospo and such artists as: Roberto Scandiuzzi, Pietro Spagnoli, Vincenzo Scalera, Riccardo Frizza, Roberto Frontali, Ines Salazar, Chris Merritt and  Bruno De Simone.  Manuel currently studies with Domenico Colaianni.
In 2014 he san gas young promise at the “Tito Schipa” Contest in Ostuni. He then interpreted the role of Istruttore in Rota’s La scuola di guida under the baton of Maurizio Lomartire, Fabio Ceresa conducting, at the Teatro Orfeo in Taranto.

In 2015 he won a scholarship at the “Accademia della Lirica” in Bari where Manuel studied with Valentina Farkas, William Matteuzzi and Domenico Colaianni.

Manuel sang in the concert “Baroccherie pugliesi” at the Festival “Giovanni Paisiello” in 2015. In the same year he attended the Scuola dell’Opera of the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and made his debut as Borsa in Rigoletto at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Busseto for Verdi Festival under Fabrizio Cassi and the direction of Alessio Pizzech. He took part in the opening season night of the Teatro Municipale in Piacenza as Albazar in Rossini’s Il Turco in Italia and then replied at the Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna. Other important debuts follows soon: Conte Alberto in Rossini’s L'Occasione fa il ladro at the Teatro Regio in Parma; Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola in a school version at the Teatro Regio in Turin; Conte d’Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia (reduced version) at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna; Albazar in Il turco in Italia at the Salzburger Landestheater.  He took part in the project Figaro! Operacamion at the Opera in Rome and again in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo.

In 2016 he studied at the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino of the Opera in Florence, where he sang as Tenente in Salieri’s La Scuola de' gelosi in Legnago, Chieti, Belluno, Verona (Teatro Ristori), Jesi, Florence (Teatro Goldoni). Manuel took also part in the productions of Marzocchi’s Il viaggio di Roberto and Scarto in Scotto and Dalla Valentina’ s Il Frankenstein. Manuel was soloist in the concert at the Opera in Florence with music by Beethoven under the baton of Fabio Luisi (the recording of the concert was released by Amadeus magazine).

At the Florence Opera he made his debut as Tamino in La piramide di luce, a reduced version of Die Zauberflöte by Mozart; Biondello in the unfinished Mozart’s opera L'oca del Cairo at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo; he sang in Haydn’s Paukenmesse in Taranto and he took part in the Chinese tour with the Accademia del Maggio Fiorentino in Guangzhou, Macao, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Bejing. Afterwards he debuted at the Festival della Valle d’Itria, his home-town, in the role of Conte Bellezza in Piccinni’s Le donne vendicate; he sang again Conte d'Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Gjovik, Norway and again in Piacenza; Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola in Lecce; Thamos in Palermo and Carmina Burana in Bologna.

Having attended the Accademia Rossiniana at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, he will debut Cavalier Belfiore in Il viaggio a Reims
