Raffaele Abete - Tenore - W Print

Raffaele Abete is first prize winner 2018 at the Etta e Paolo Limiti Competition in Milan and prize winner 2018 at the Ottavio Ziino International Singing Contest in Rome. 

Mr. Abete made his debut at the Arena di Verona as Ismaele in Nabucco in 2015. 

Other engagements included Romeo in Gounod's Romeo et Juliette for the opening night at the Arena di Verona, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni and Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor in Bergamo; La Bohème (Rodolfo), Rigoletto (Duke of Mantua) at the Filarmonico in Verona and in Chisinau; Rigoletto in Parma; Madama Butterfly in Torre del Lago and in Bologna; Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in Milan; Le Villi in Cagliari; La Traviata in Rovigo, Livorno, Lucca; Don Carlos in Bern; La Bohème in Tirana; a series of concerts in Rovigo and Recanati.

In 2016 he made his American debut at the New York City Opera as Cavaradossi in Tosca with great success he then starred as Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, at Festival Verdi in Busseto, at the Sesto Senso Opera Festival in Taormina, at the Opera Grand Rapids, Toledo Opera, Opera Carolina; Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor in Chieti and a series of concerts in Italy and in Copenaghen. Recent engagements included : Verdi's Requiem in Taranto and Matera;  Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at the Massimo Bellini in Catania and at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna; Aida at the Arena and Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly and Puccini's Messa di Gloria at the Teatro Filarmonico at the Arena in Verona.

Plans include: Tosca in Trieste; Stiffelio in Dijon; Madama Butterfly in Essen; La Traviata in Massy; a concert gala at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liege.

Born in Naples, Mr. Abete studied at the Conservatorio di Musica Domenico Cimarosa in Avellino under the guidance of Maestro Pasquale Tizzani, specializing  with Luciana Serra, Renato Bruson and Lella Cuberli.
